Lingling
has evolved from wide-eyed ingénue to prettiest actress in Singapore
to sexy mother of one.
This
time, she turns into the host of Xin Shi Ji (New Century), an new
info-tainment programme targeted at both working women and housewives
in today's busy world.
Working
with Billy Wang (the FM97.2
deejay who is well known for his DIY tips), Lingling will harness
the skills she gained while hosting City Beat and start teaching
working women and housewives how to make themselves more beautiful.
Tommy's
shop and Tommy Hilfiger Color are available at Tommy Hilfiger counters
at Metro Paragon, Robinsons Raffles City, Seiyu Bugis Junction and
Tangs.
Lingling
reveals her secrets…
Surely
many women aspire to be as beautiful as Lingling. So will she be
sharing her personal beauty secrets on the programme? "Yes, if they
are suitable for the programme," says the excited actress.
When
asked to share a few beauty secrets with us, the eager host says
readily, "No problem," and starts rattling off a few tips on how
she maintains her dewy good looks.
Tip
1: A glass of water a day keeps the toxins away
"I
think it is very important to remove all the toxins in your body
everyday," asserts the pretty mother of one who makes it a point
to gulp down a glass of water everyday when she wakes up.
"Since my teens, I have already made it a habit to drink a glass
of water everyday early in the morning. I think it helps to cleanse
your stomach."
"And after that, your body feels very light and comfortable. In
fact, I believe that this is the reason why I don't have many pimples,"
she grins.
Tip
2: Keep beauty regiment simple
Lingling
speculates that another reason for her clear skin is her very simple
beauty regime.
"I probably will get beaten up (by envious women) for saying this
but because my face is not oily at all, I don't use soap to clean
my face at all. I merely use clean water unless I am removing make
up from my face."
Well,
perhaps the envious ones could blame it all on Lingling's good genes.
But
Lingling asserts that moisturizers are very important and she swears
by them faithfully.
"Now that I am hitting my thirties, I have started to use eye cream
too," she adds with a laugh. "When one hits 30 and above, your hormones
will change and you will have to take better care of your skin,"
she advises.
But prior to that, this 30-year-old girl-woman just cannot care
less. "I super boh chap (cannot be bothered). I never bothered to
take care of my skin or keep my weight in check."
Not noticing that this reporter is already turning green with envy,
she adds on with a carefree smile, "I can't go on diets or become
vegetarian or something because I love to eat. I especially like
chicken meat," she grins.
Tip
3: Carrying babies make good exercise
Turning
into an even darker shade of green, I ask if she EVER exercises?
"Nope," says the reed-thin actress nonchalantly. "But I think carrying
babies are a good form of exercise."
"Prior
to having Beckham (her son), I didn't have any arm muscles. Now
that I have to carry him so much, I actually toned up my arms a
little," she grins before pausing to think of more ways to take
better care of herself.
"Maybe I'll start on those masks, treatments and toning exercises
in 5 years' time."
