and love handles at male pageant

Not
many rippling shoulders and 6-packs seen at this year's International
Man Singapore pageant.

 Gorgeous
looks were probably not an important criterion for the International
Man Singapore pageant.
The
10 finalists range from the handsome guy your friend wants to date,
to the average bloke on the streets.
The
organisers weren't looking for a Greek statuesque bod too.
In
fact, I even spotted some flat chests, smooth tummies and yes, love
handles.
Intelligence?
 The
Q & A segment came only after 5 finalists were selected for
the final round.
Charm
they did not have, and judges were not given a glimpse of their
riveting personalities. The main criterion must be the unexplainable,
elusive X factor then.
That
would explain why a motley lot like them are vying for the top titles
Mr Joven Singapore 2001 and Mr Hombre Singapore 2001.
 Professional
model Leon Williams, who starred in our website's (formerly known
as Eastciti.com) television commercial last year, was the deserving
winner of the Mr Hombre Singapore 2001 award.
Leon's
baby smooth skin and superb PR skills also won him the Biotherm
Homme Best Skin Award, and Congeniality Award.
 But
the biggest triumph belongs to Ritchie Lim who took home an astonishing
4 awards out of the 8 given away that night.
He
was deemed the best in the swimwear and eveningwear categories,
and was voted, via the Internet, the most photogenic.
The
19 year-old mechanical engineering student will also represent Singapore
in the Joven International Pageant 2001.
 The
third crown for Mr Continents 2001 went to medical undergraduate
Allan Ooi.
While
these international pageants may sound foreign and unimpressive,
it did give the world the first Asian winner in an international
male pageant.
 Singapore's
Zul Dawood took the Hombre Internacional (sic) 2001 crown last year
and put teeny-weeny Singapore on the world hunk map. Go tease your
friends with this world-shaking news!
