Whatever
the weather, nothing will keep Hong Kong Heavenly Queen Faye Wong's
fans away.
When the superstar stopped by in Singapore to
promote her latest television serial, Love From A Lie, about 300
of her ardent fans thronged Far East Square to catch a glimpse of
her.
The weather was just no match for Faye's star
attraction. Half an hour before she arrived, the weather took a
turn for the worse.
But the rain did not dampen her fans' spirits
one bit. Some stood under umbrellas (below), while others squeezed
into tiny sheltered corners - all of them were waiting for their
favourite star.
Faye was fashionably late for 45 minutes, but
she seemed to have brought the sunshine with her. Her mood seemed
to match the suddenly bright weather outside.
While she was there, she chatted with Channel
U's host, Guo Liang.
She also mingled with her fans, answered several
questions from the press and was ushered away after a brief 30-minute
session.
Although the encounter was brief, Faye, 31 did
make an impression with her new look.
She is sporting a new hairdo - the sides of
her head were shaved and her crown, shaggy.
Yet, the style was not what the trend-setting
superstar had originally intended.
"While filming in Japan, I wanted to crop my
hair short, since I have been wearing my hair long for a while.
But this hairdo is not my creation. I left it to my stylist and
he came up with this."
True to her unflappable ice-queen persona, Faye
coolly replied: "I like it", when asked how she felt about her new
look.
Indeed, Faye looked simply nonchalant throughout
the whole meeting.
But for Faye's fans, the wet weather vigil was
certainly worth their while.
