As NDP
2001 approaches, we catch these MediaCorp stars in their final
stages of preparation.

In celebration of our nation's 36th birthday,
MediaCorp artistes took time off from their busy schedules to join
in the festive mood. Here's a peek at what they were up to prior
to the big day.
Heliosphere rehearsal - July 27
What's the one thing that most artistes lack?
Time.
With heavy filming of The
Challenger, Lilin and Vincent had little time to rehearse for
the NDP heliosphere performance. On the night of their airborne
heliosphere rehearsal, they arrived at National Stadium after filming
for a whole day.

make a handsome couple |
Vincent admitted to be a little giddy after
the rehearsal but he prefers the actual airborne rehearsal to the
previous
ground routine. "It feels good to be flying in the air and
the dark atmosphere has a dreamy quality to it. Besides, in the air,
the somersaults are more fluid. The 2 Englishmen on the ground pulling
the ropes help to steady the actions too."
Lilin got a headache as soon as she touched
ground. (Boy, viewers should really appreciate the hard work that
goes into this performance.)
"My problem is I'm too 'bendy' and yet
have to keep my back straight. Actually I'm not used to being upside
down but I enjoyed the breeze up there," said the petite actress.
Contrary to her soft and gentle appearance,
Lilin is one tough girl. The daredevil had even attempted skydiving
before and get this - she leaped off from a cool height of 13 000
feet.
"I simply love heights," she gushed,
her eyes shining.
