Right after golden Wushu boy Vincent and graceful ballerina perform somersaults in mid-air for the upcoming NDP 2001 , Brandon and Weidong add to the new breed of gravity defy-ers with abseiling feats. The 2 artistes had previously been handpicked to take part in Adventure Quest 2001. But they could not make it to the race because of Brandon's heavy filming schedule and clashes with Weidong's NDP practices. The artistes, however, still took time off to participate in the last item of the race on Sunday (July 29) to scale up and down the walls of The Heeren Shops. Ready, get set, climb! Weidong was the first to abseil. The gung-ho actor strapped himself to the ropes and pulled himself up. With my 2 feet firmly on the ground, camera poised to capture precious moments, eyes fixed on the steadily ascending lean figure, I was thankful I did not have to be up there. It looked easy enough from below, but surely one needed much energy to climb up the 6-storey high building.
