We went, we drooled, and we fell in love with one of the best football teams, dare I say, in the world!

It doesn't matter that I'll soon be a quarter of a century old; I still get awe-struck and highly excited when it comes to chasing down international stars and autograph hunting.

Last weekend, my colleagues and I ogled at Liverpool FC captain Jamie Redknapp, gazed incredulously at his towering height, stared unabashedly at hot cutie Michael Owen, and hollered after Robbie Fowler and Patrik Berger for their autographs.

And we were just a few worshipers out of a sea of thousands.

Through sweat, pushing crowds and thundering rain, I got you baby!

I stood a breath away from Jamie, Michael, Jorgen Nielsen, Markus Babbel and Pegguy Arphexad, snapping my camera feverishly at them, and watching sweat trickle off Stephane Henchoz and Sami Hyypia's noses.

From the press conference, to the meet-the-fans session at Tivoli Bar, and the training session at Bishan Stadium, the atmosphere and adoration was simply electrifying!

Even though some of you didn't get to have your memorabilia signed after a long wait at Tivoli Bar because the players had to leave, there were no violent protests and broken beer bottles, only disappointed hearts.

At the training practice, 4000 kids, grown men and women howled at their idols, waved the Liverpool jerseys and flags proudly like they were Olympic gold medals and sang in enthusiastic fervour, Liverpool's anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone". (I wonder if you are this patriotic come August 9th.)

You die-hard fans laughed when during a warm-up game, Michael was tackled and his ball went rolling away, eliciting from him a shocked and playful "HEY!"

You cheered when Gary McAllister did a thumbs-up sign, acknowledging the ceaseless calls for him. You roared even louder when Gary smiled at a fan's declaration that he's the best.

Liverpool fans, you make us proud!
