First
things first: It's show time, not Sammi time. Andy was
in town last Saturday to launch the ticket sale of his debut Singapore show "with
much anxiety and anticipation", as in his own words. "After
releasing so many albums, I want to cherish this opportunity and bring out the
best in myself to fans in Singapore," the boyish balladeer expressed confidently
in Mandarin at a press conference.

Organised
by The Events Specialist, the concept of his upcoming concert in Singapore is
expected to be similar to the Hong Kong gigs held 2 months ago. "But
I will add in more Mandarin songs," assured Andy who is well-known to local
fans for his wonder hits such as, Chu Fei Ni Qin Kou Dui Wo Shuo (Unless
You Tell Me Personally)
and of course, his alleged romance with Heavenly
Queen, Sammi
Cheng.
In fact,
the hush-hush relationship was brought into limelight again as the couple's celeb
chum Dicky Cheung announced to the media that they have gone their separate ways. Rumour
mills have been speculating that Andy initiated the break-up as he had seen enough
of her flirtatious ways, and more significantly, he was overshadowed by Sammi's
sensational success. Even
one lucky fan, Cherie Chan (16, student from St Theresa's Convent) who had the
golden chance to interview the singer-actor face-to-face confessed after the session
that she liked and supported him because "he is Sammi (her idol)'s beau".
Cherie and her younger sister,
Fiona, have already purchased a top-priced ticket ($151) each to the concert. Now
back to Andy and Sammi saga. Is Andy still in touch with Sammi lately? "Ah
lately? Let's not talk about it." A bittersweet
smile hung on his face. Will he invite Sammi to his Singapore
show? "I'll have to call
and ask... But long-distance calls are expensive," the witty man brushed
the probe off and animatedly grabbed the mobile phone of the Starbhub (concert
presenter) spokesperson seated next to him. "Now, perhaps you can lend me
yours!" Besides
a Golden Harvest filming stint (acting opposite Hong Kong singer Ronald Cheng)
after this promotional trip, a getaway to Thailand with his guy pals, including
Dicky, Louis Koo and William
So, looks set to be on his schedule.
"If they
are not busy filming or recording", local concertgoers will have more than
an eyeful of Andy as the celebrities may be in town to support him. Still,
Andy promised that there would be 2 mysterious guest artistes.
Will
Sammi be one of them? Hmm,
just keep your fingers crossed.
