These girls have been pretty quiet for months
now. But they definitely have not been slacking off.
 Jaime,
Juliet and Sharon,
the top 3 winners of the Miss
Universe Singapore, have been busy learning about media relations,
English voice and speech classes, and correcting common Mandarin
mistakes.
And now, they've just completed their last acting
class with acclaimed acting teacher Cynthia Hoppenfield.
They look stunning, and strutting on the
catwalk appears as effortless as breathing to them. So the big question
is this: How do these girls fare as thespians?

"These 3 girls are terrific!" Cynthia
told us. "They've never done any acting before, so they don't
have any bad habits, or any habits at all. They moved from being
fairly stiff and 'acting', to understand that acting is actually
telling the truth and not pretending."
We asked Juliet, Sharon and Jaime what they
now think of acting and their dream roles.
 Sharon:
"I've always thought acting is 'acting' and a portrayal of
another person. Now I realised it's actually digging inside of you
to find something similar within."
 Juliet
agrees, "It's a larger picture of life."
 Jaime:
"Acting is a lot easier when you are watching it!"
When asked what their dream role would be, both
Jaime and Sharon gave starkly different replies.
Sharon: "My dream role would be to portray
a mad woman or a psychotic, because this will leave an impression
on the audience and be a challenge for myself."
Jaime: "On the other hand, for practical
reasons, I would prefer a more likeable role. This can leave an
impression too. The viewers are more forgiving if I move from acting
a good person to a bad egg. But they'll always remember me as a
bitch if I start off acting as one!"

all 3 lovely ladies in Ch 8's mammoth production Hotel, where Jaime
will play a cute social dance teacher and Juliet, an air stewardess
who bring in overseas products to sell in the hotel. Sharon will
act opposite Gurmit Singh's Phua Chu Kang, who thinks our beauty
queen is a 'hot chick'!
Yup, we think all of them are too!
