Christopher's secret crush
May 15, 2001
"I'll let you know when anything happens
okay?" says Christopher with an embarrassed smile. Just who
is Christopher holding a torch for?

Filming in Shanghai
But
such times are scarce indeed for the pair. "I am very busy
in Shanghai. Everyday, I will wake up at 5, film till about 2 or
3 a.m. in the morning and go to bed after that."
Before he even realizes it, Christopher lets
slip with a few friendly grumbles about filming in Shanghai. "The
weather there is very very dry. Even my wrinkles were starting to
show. (Laughs) I had to apply lots of moisturizing lotion to prevent
my skin from drying out."
"The food there is very oily. But of course
I still eat it. When you are hungry and there is nothing else to
eat, you just finish your food no matter what. Besides, you need
to eat because sometimes you are filming at 10 degrees. You need
food to keep yourself warm," the actor says.
Adds Christopher when we prodded him further,
"Oh yes, and you don't get to rest. There is no free day and
you travel 'thousands of miles' to nowhere to film. It is both physically
and mentally exhausting because you don't get enough sleep."
Hey, but before you dismisses Christopher as
someone who can't take any hardship, Christopher adds brightly,
"But of course, I am not afraid of being tired. At any rate,
it is better than having nothing to do," he smiles as he starts
to count his blessings.
Missing
Singapore
Still, the joy of
having work to do (after about year long rest while waiting for
Lu
Xiaofeng to wrap up filming) and the pleasure of having his
dream girl by his side do sometime give way to homesickness.
"I miss Singapore's food!" exclaims
Christopher. "All kinds of Singaporean food."
And of course, he misses having time to indulge
in his favourite pastime- wakeboarding.
"I don't like myself now. I look too fair
now," he says.
Thankfully, though Christopher has put on 2
to 3 kg because of the oily food in China, he still looks good.
So
what was the first thing he did when he came back to Singapore for
a short break and to perform for the NKF Charity Show 2001?
"I cut my hair short. The weather there
is getting very warm. I wish I can go botak (bald) but unfortunately,
I need the hair for my character."
Missing the warmth of his own nest terribly,
he rubs his hands gleefully when he finds out that the NKF Charity
Show will be ending at 10pm.
"Goody, then I can go home for a while
before I fly off at 1a.m tonight."
