Pan Lingling swoons over a guy, and it's
not hubby Huang Shinan!

It is no secret that
the soft-spoken and demure Pan Lingling loves soccer.
Why, she's even named her son after her favorite
Manchester United footballer, David Beckham and we are not even
talking about first names here.
The other love in her life
 "I've
always loved soccer even when I was in school. After my lessons,
I would go to the field and watch people play soccer," says
the enthusiastic actress, whose eyes light
up the moment soccer or football is mentioned.
Listening to her talk about her passion, the
phrase 'loving the game' doesn't even begin to explain her obsession.
"I love watching soccer matches because
they are so exciting. I used make Shinan watch soccer matches with
me till late at night," exclaims the mother of one, who used
to keep late soccer nights even when she was pregnant with Beckham.
Not afraid that the late nights will bring her
beauty problems? "Sure, I had dark circles under my eyes but
I didn't care!" she declares with a giggle.

So what is the draw of the game for her?
"David Beckham! He is my favourite player!"
she enthuses.
Discovering the pin-up idol by chance while
watching the World Cup, Lingling reveals that she was hooked the
moment she saw him.
 "He
was running with the ball and suddenly, he turned around, flipped
his hair and smiled. He looked so handsome!" she swoons.
But lest
you label her as just one of the girls who worships athletes because
of their looks, Lingling reveals that she loves the sports because
she truly appreciates the game, too.
"My favourite coaches are Ferguson (Man
U) and Wagner (Chelsea)," she says, though she does not have
a favourite team.
"Actually, I support both Manchester United
and Liverpool. Both teams have players I like. That is why I prefer
watching World Cup because when England plays, all my favourite
players like Beckham, York, Giggs, Scholes, Solskjaer and Owen (see,
not all are poster pin-up boys!) will be playing."
