Zoe always finds herself in the headlines. But, who can blame the media when she is undisputedly the biggest household name in Singapore? Buzz in the entertainment circles even has it that here putting Zoe's picture on the cover will revive plummeting sales of any magazine! Indeed, sales statistics spin the fact that news of Zoe is always in hot demand - from tantalising trivia like a spunky haircut or snazzy new car (she drives a cool blue Audi TT Coupe now), to momentous news like her MediaCorp contract renewal and award nominations. And who can forget the hush-hush marriage registration (ROM) with pilot Phillip Chionh in 1995?
Having been "married" umpteen times in reel life, the long-awaited nuptials of Singapore's most popular actress is something that everybody (fans or not) has been speculating about. But the news is out! Zoe has confirmed that she will (finally) walk down the aisle "anytime between July to December of 2001". Grinning from ear-to-ear, she adds, with excitement in her voice, "Phillip is currently undergoing training in the States and will be back by July next year. We'll definitely hold our (traditional) ceremony by then.
"I'm really looking forward to the big day. We've waited so long already..." Grandeur and glamour are expected to be the order of the big day. Also on the cards is a church wedding is because her hubby is Catholic. As for the wedding details, she will be counting on her married friends and fashion industry pals for help.
Zoe fully understands and believes in the adage - What goes round comes round. "I always sabo my friends on their wedding day, so I know they will be planning to take 'revenge' on me. No…I'm not afraid. It'll be a very fun affair, I know," the wedding belle chuckles. Meanwhile, the actress remains totally committed to her craft. She is gearing her energy to make her silver screen debut in a thriller drama The Tree, which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2001. Watch out for Ah Jie's performance as a strict mother as she stars opposite Hong Kong veteran actor Francis Ng in this Raintree Pictures production.
